GEP's History
In our beginning, Global Education Plus functioned under a very broad umbrella of activity. GEP began holding conferences in Romania, the Ukraine, China, Bulgaria and Malaysia. The conferences were offered with the existing adult leadership in communist nations, where limited training had been given to oppressed institutions of religious faith.
After studiying the results of these events, as well as experiencing the neglect of the education of children, GEP's focus shifted to the struggling private schools that were being created in a vacuum of poverty. These schools were opened in storefront buildings, apartment houses and in rural settings.
GEP began working with private schools in the Ukraine and Russia in 2000-01. It was quickly determined that the greater need and accessibility appeared to be in Latin America, Asia and Africa, in that order. GEP's focus shifted, and in 2002, the first visit to Guatemala took place. The decision to address Central and South America, along with the Caribbean region was confirmed. GEPs long range plan is to address the Latin American region and to later expand to Asia and Africa.
Defining GEP's Purpose
GEP's purpose is to provide schools for the children of the Latin American region that are equipped to meet the basic needs for education. The existing primary and secondary schools often function without adequate textbooks. GEP will assist with translation, printing, purchasing and distributing such books to selected schools.
There are excellent education umbrellas in place for Latin American private schools. It is through this leadership that GEP will approach the multiple needs in these schools. The team is broad-based as to its intent and commitment to the children who are enrolled.
Other projects are in place that will give GEP an opportunity to provide such things as teacher certification training, medicines (vitamins and de-worming medicines), new schoolhouses, repairs to existing buildings, and classroom equipment. GEP will also attempt to meet other needs as they arise.

GEP is a non-profit agency, founded in 1995. The offical corporate name is Global Education Plus, Inc. The IRS 990 reports are managed by O'Dell & Company of Springfield, MO.
GEP does not practice discrimination by race, creed. religion or color as we address the needs of these schools. Our goal is the education of children in basic courses and a value system which prepares them to enter adult life as a responsible citizens of their nation.
